Surrounding development is of great concern for the following reasons:

UCLA Health Study says that there is a confirmed increase in cancer, in particular, within 2 miles of the site.
Any new developments would re-contaminate the surrounding neighborhoods through the grading process.
We know it's a great view, but that is not the point.  It is dangerous to both prospective new home owners as well as those who already live there when these big developers come in and start moving mountains.

KB Homes who is trying to develop Runkle Canyon on the Simi side of the site, needs to find another project.  We know that they are in it for the money.  Over the last three years, former CEO of KB Homes, Bruce Karatz made $232.6million on compensation.  Go make money somewhere else because this one's a loser all the way around.  Check out the timeline developed by EnviroReporter.com here:NEW

Centex Homes who is trying to develop Dayton Canyon on the West Hills side of the site has already found 62,000,000 ppb in perchlorate, in addition to radioactive contamination that they found: Cesium137, Strontium90, and Plutonium239 -- all byproducts of the fission process.  Go away Centex!  This will come back and bite you, you know it will.  We will make sure of it.
